The girls hope to tease him as much as they can, but they find out he gets very in character, and they end up flustered often instead. A significant portion of the fic is indeed following the group as they play, 'moving the camera into the world' so to speak. There are some times where problems in the real world bleed over into the game, such as when Himiko joins the group. Asui is quite hostile, both in the game and outside of it. Words are had, and disappointed glares aimed at the girl before she agrees to keep her anger to herself.

There's still friction, but the game continues and the fic is updated to the point of the gang being on their second quest. It's a lot of fun, and I'm surprised at how invested I am with all the characters' stories.
