He avoids jail time by agreeing to work at UA, helping to shape the next generation of heroes to make society better, and pass information on to Nedzu about anything relevant from his vigilante night life. Izuku is quite traumatized, as he so often is, and has his work cut out for him as he struggles with recovery, managing a movement he accidentally started, keeping Nedzu at arm's length, maintaining his vigilante persona, and molding the next generation of heroes.

He copes surprisingly well, with access to excellent medical care, friends to pick up the slack on the streets, and a good amount of self care. He does adopt Shinso, and figures out that Momo is All Might's successor, and bails Mina and Kaminari out of a messy situation. I wish he had more scenes where he interacts and gets to know the class, but I suppose he does have a pretty full plate. He even has the energy to sprinkle humor over every bite he takes. Unfortunately for him, canon still happens with varying details and deeper worldbuilding.
