Thanks to a single stray thought about how two bandits behaved differently, Cid realizes that the Cult is real. That he is the Eminence in Shadow. That he's in way over his head even with all his power. His attempts to squeeze information out of the girls now that he's actually paying attention are hilarious, as are his attempts to overcome his previously very hands off management style.

His fallibility combined with his inability to find the organization he created are delightfully fun and chaotic. In addition to the fun, he takes more time to look at the world around him and the people in it once he realizes the truth and finds that he quite enjoys the relationships he's building. It makes for some quite touching scenes. It's a rather fun fic so far!
