One of the things I love about Sonic Generations is how they conveyed the thoughts and emotions of both Sonics through the music in each level. Probably the best example of this was Crisis City.

Act 2 tells us Modern Sonic was thinking about that day. He was reminiscing about everything that led up to that point, but there's nothing he can do about it now. He needs to push those thoughts aside, focus on the objective, and repeat what he's done before.

Compare that to Act 1. The shock, the fear, the hopelessness of the situation... Classic Sonic is gonna do what needs to be done, but he's not going to pretend he isn't terrified.

God, I loved Generations. Not my favorite game in the franchise, but definitely a VERY close second.
